He moved to Haarlem and started a wallpaper factory there between 1764-1769.\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 12.5px;\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eHe became a director of the Stadstekenacademie in Haarlem in 1769. In 1775 he travelled to London establishing himself there.
