Overall in mount.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAgar was an English portrait painter and engraver, who exhibited his works at the Royal Academy from 1796 to 1806\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 12.5px;\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eand at the British Institution until 1811. Following a bankruptcy he did not exhibit again until 1836. He was at one time president of the Society of Engravers. His engravings were chiefly in stipple after his own designs and those of others.
