Richard Earlom Hand coloured mezzotint engraving after Robert Dighton. "January" A young woman in fashionable dress shown full-length, sitting to right in a chair upholstered with striped material, reading a paper; a window behind her with a view of people skating outside. One from a set of the Twelve Months. Published by Carington Bowles Circa.1781. A beautifully contemporary tinted example which has been trimmed at somepoint and framed in a period style sanded slip frame.

Born Edith Lilian Barnish in Wigan, Edmonds studied at the Liverpool School Of Art and The Atelier Delbos in Paris. She was a frequent exhibitor at The Royal Academy and The Society of Women Artists. She also exhibited at the Paris Salon.
