Hand coloured satirical etching depicting George the Fourth standing on clouds of decency and decorum holding a sack of slander his face obscured by a crescent moon inscribed Caroline. He holds a bottle of Noyau and floats above The Sea and Brighton Pavilion. Published by J Fairburn October 1820. A satire on the dropping of the Bill of Pains and Penalties which aimed to dissolve the marriage of George and Caroline of Brunswick. 23.2 by 34.5 cms. Several condition issues but exceptionally rare.
