Anne North 18th.Century English School. Watercolour drawing. Signed inscribed and dated 1792. Skaters on Hyde Park Canal. 27 by 20.5 cms. image. 36.5 by 30.5 cms. Overall in 19th.Century gilt gesso frame. Some old mount staining and discolouration, frame has minor losses. Inscription to the reverse states that Miss Anne North was an Honorary Exhibitor at The Royal Academy, showing in 1790 a View of Hampstead Heath. This drawing is based upon a composition by Julius Caesar Ibbetson (1759-1817) in the Yale Center for British Art (B2001.2.941).
