Attributed to George Edwards 1694-1773. British School 18th.Century. A charming pair of watercolour drawings depicting a Brambling and a Jay. Watercolour and gouache on laid paper, some general foxing, both presented in 18th.Century ebonised fruitwood frames. 23.5 by 28.8 cms. Overall framed. Provenance: With Frost & Reed Bristol September 1965 as George Edwards. 

 Edwards is largely regarded as the "Father of British Ornithology" mostly remembered for his highly detailed drawings and etchings of birds.
