Barbara MacDonald was a sucessful artist and illustrator who came to Australia from England following World War I, having married an Australian Officer. There she continued to produce illustrations for numerous publications and children's books. She also wrote and illustrated "The Epistles of Pamela" Published in Ure Smith's "Home" A witty tale of Australian life as experienced by a newcomer; a self deprecating caricature of her own experiences.
