Les Sirènes (The Sirens), was choreographed by Frederick Ashton to music by Lord Berners, the set and costume design being by Cecil Beaton. Despite the mythical name, the ballet was actually a satirical comedy set at the opulent Edwardian seaside resort of Trouville, France, Ca.1904. First performed by the Sadler’s Wells Ballet, Royal Opera House, London, 12 November 1946.
