Moving to Milan in 1603 he worked for Federico Borromeo, painting an impressive series of frescoes based on the life of the Blessed Carlo Borromeo. He became a Prince of the San Luca Academy, eventually returning to Orvieto where he continued to paint and write poetry until his death.
