Libby Horner notes the similarity of the present lot to the works that Brangwyn painted in South Africa in 1891, both in terms of the size and type of board the artist has used, and the dragged scrub in the right hand side of the composition. The work will be listed in her online catalogue of the Works of Frank Brangwyn, reference O - 1133.
