Oval laid on to backing sheet 37 by 34 cms. 50 by 40 cms. Overall. Some time related wear and grubbiness to no real detriment. Provenance: Ex Iolo Williams Collection, Olympia Auctions October 2024 Lot 75.
Rigaud was a Turin-born painter of French descent who studied in Italy before settling in London in 1772, where he worked closely with fellow Italian Neoclassical artists Giovanni Cipriani and Francesco Bartolozzi.
