Thomas Charles Wageman (1785-1857). Pencil drawing signed and dated 1818. A portrait study of the Actor John Fawcett In the Character of Touchstone in "As You Like It" 8.5 by 13.5 cms to mounted image. 12 by 15.6 cms overall.

John Fawcett (1768-1837) was a celebrated Actor and playwright of the early 19th.Century.

This particular drawing formed the basis for the stipple engraving by Thomas Woolnoth Published by Simpson and Marshall in 1819.
