In their original gilt gesso frames with eglomise glass. 15 by 19 cms image. 29.2 by 33.2 cms overall framed. (Frames have some very small loss, as to be expected and to no detriment).
A rare allegorical pair representing "Day & Night" by Thomas Harper (active 1817-1843) a successful miniaturist, he designed a series of romanticised allegorical "Beauties" (such as Psyche, Hebe, Ariel, and The Moss Rose) which were subsequently engraved into commercial mezzotints.
