Reinganum was a sucessful British artist and illustrator, probably best known for his illustrations for Magazines and book dustjackets, including the first editions of Muriel Spark's The Ballad of Peckham Rye and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
During 1925–1928, the period of this drawing Reinganum was studying at Hatherley's School of Fine Art and at the Académie Julian in Paris, he was also taking private lessons with Léger.
